With a striking profile, the Type 80 Desk Lamp's distinguished design and flawless engineering needs no introduction. Designed by Sir Kenneth Grange (Anglepoise's legendary chief designer) in his 90th year, this model features an attractive ‘halo’ light-escape in the lampshade, which brings an additional dimension in low-light environments.
Each detail has been carefully considered and precision-engineered to deliver style and ergonomic function, including a seamlessly integrated switch in the lampshade, a spring joint mechanism, and wiring that is discreetly hidden in the arms.

Anglepoise Lamps: Created by an Engineer
In 1932 automotive engineer George Carwardine develops a formula for a new type of spring. He discovers that pivoting arms supported by a sequence of these springs can be repositioned with the lightest touch yet will remain perfectly in place once released. Carwardine has just created the blueprint for an Anglepoise: a perfectly balanced desk lamp, and his enduring legacy.
Does the lamp come fully assembled?
Some light adjustment is required, but it is simple and can be done in under a few minutes. An Allen key is supplied for fine tuning the tension.
Can the lamp be dimmed?
The Type 80 Desk Lamp is not dimmable.
How should I clean the lamp?
Wipe using a dry dusting cloth. Do not use any cleaning agents
