Sayaka Murata is the author of the international smash-hit sensation Convenience Store Woman, which she wrote while working in a Tokyo convenience store and won the Akutagawa Prize, Japan's most prestigious literary award. In 2017 Vogue Japan named her one of its 'Women of the Year'.
