12 special edition premium California-grown cedarwood pencils with extra-firm Japanese graphite core, available in blue or orange finish.
Blackwing pencils were favored by award-winning creators throughout the 20th century. Claimed by some to be the best pencil in the world, Blackwings were famous for the quality of graphite, iconic shape, and replaceable erase. Despite a cult following, they were discontinued in the 1990s. Devotees began paying as much as $40 on eBay for a single pencil.
In the early 2000s, the company used their access to the best wood, graphite, and artisan makers in the world to introduce a premium pencil line called Palomino. The buzz surrounding Palomino led Blackwing fans to ask them to try and bring Blackwing pencils back for a new generation. In 2010, they did just that.
The Blackwing Palomino is the second entry into the Blackwing Eras series. Each pencil features extra-firm graphite, signature gold stripe, gold Blackwing Palomino imprint, gold ferrule, and white eraser inspired by the Palomino pencils that paved the way for the Blackwing revival.
At the heart of every Blackwing pencil is one of the world’s finest Japanese-crafted graphite cores. This core is encased in Genuine California Incense-cedar and finished with a smooth lacquer, giving each pencil exceptional sharpening performance and the look of quality that has come to be associated with Blackwing products.
This special edition collection is available in packs of 12, for keeping all to yourself or sharing with the class.
