Tosaryu Hinoki Soap Rest

A soap rest made of handsome and functional hinoki wood, prized in Japan for its appealing, bracing scent. The natural resin of Japanese hinoki cypress wood prevents mold and mildew, and resists bacteria and absorption of odors. It's zigzag surface drains off water and is easy to clean with a stiff brush.

Made by Tosaryu woodshop, whose craftsmen have continued to make products using thinned wood and scraps of their region's Shimanto Hinoki trees. Due to the surrounding environment of the Kochi region, Shimanto Hinoki is rich in oils and fats, has high antibacterial and antifungal effects, and drains well, so it dries quickly and lasts a long time.
