A ceremonial grade matcha from Japanese tea house Jugetsudo. A powdered green tea used in tea ceremonies, Fuji no Haru Matcha derives its name from “springtime at Mt. Fuji”. This special green tea comes from one of the finest tea plantations, the Okabe area in Shizuoka Prefecture at the foot of beautiful Mt. Fuji. With a deep, verdant flavor and vivid green color, this caffeine-rich treat can be served hot or brewed cold.
Each tin contains 50g of matcha powder, perfect for single-cup brewing or baking projects.
How to brew: Boil water to 80 degrees celsius. Add a teaspoon of matcha powder to a matcha bowl. Pour water into a plain cup, then re-pour the cup of water into the matcha bowl. Whisk the matcha with the water using a bamboo matcha whisk, in a zigzag motion. Drink immediately, sipping directly from the bowl.
The Japanese tea shop Jugetsudo was founded in 1980 by Maruyama Nori, a nori (dried seaweed) merchant. The word jugetsudo can be understood as “the place from where one looks at the moon.” When we look at the moon, we become humble and truly appreciate its eternal beauty. The Jugetsudo tea house offers the bounty of nature through their high-quality tea. More than 160 years of tradition and experience pursuing the highest quality ingredients promise not just a wonderful cup of tea, but also an enjoyable fragrance and a comforting, warm feeling.
