Designed by Yota Kakuda in collaboration with Lemnos, the smooth-faced Lines Clock features a twelve skinny, extra long notches evenly spaced to help you see the time even if you're standing far away. A plywood tambourine frame gives this clock a gentle nature that seems to say "It is a pleasure to tell the time."
Born in Japan in 1979, Yota Kakuda moved to London in 2003, where he worked in design studios and earned his MA at the Royal College of Art on scholarship from the Japanese government. He returned to Tokyo in 2008 and joined MUJI as a product designer, later establishing YOTA KAKUDA DESIGN in 2011. He is the recipient of an iF Design Award and a Good Design Award, and was the first Asian finalist for the Hublot Design Prize in 2016.
