A nostalgic-looking, string-fastening document envelope. It can hold documents, magazines, etc., and can be put in a bag to organize documents. Of course, you can also carry it around as it is.
This collection, called SIWA, is produced by the Onao paper company in Japan and designed by superstar industrial designer Naoto Fukasawa. Onao is a family run company, with more than 150 years of papermaking history in beautiful Yamanishi, a rural area near Mt. Fuji.
It is large enough to store A4 paper, A4 files, and large magazines (11.7" x 8.97" / 29.7 x 22.8 cm). The gusset is foldable and when unfolded, it is 1.18" / 3.3 cm wide and can store 500 sheets of A4 copy paper. The round clasp is made of resin and is protected from the inside, so the metal fittings will not damage the stored items.
The main body is made of Soft Naoron. Each piece is sewn by a craftsman with a sewing machine to make the seams less noticeable, and the double bag stitching increases the strength.
Measures 13.58" x 9.84" x 1.37" (H345 x W250 x D35 mm).
