A June TRAVELER'S Meetup Recap

A June TRAVELER'S Meetup Recap

What is a TRAVELER'S Meetup? For our latest one, we announced it on our sandwich boards in front of the shops and posted event fliers next to our TRAVELER'S Company section in-store. Some curious passers-by came inside to ask if it was a meetup for people who like traveling. A special travel society? Yes, something like that. A gathering space for fans and users of a modular journaling and planner system called TRAVELER'S Company (TRC), to be exact.

After our last meetup in January, we decided to throw the meetups seasonally. Then we weren't able to coordinate this latest one till the start of June. Oops. Not exactly what one thinks of for a 'spring' time gathering, but the summer solstice was still a few weeks away. We had been waiting to secure the new-for-2019 TRC releases—a plethora of fresh notebook formats and accessory inserts for both the Standard and Passport sizes—including a Dot Grid and Watercolor Paper refill that many had their eyes on.

A store flier announcing the June 7th TRC meetup

On June 7th, the weather was somewhere in the 80s and generally quite pleasant (no wild storms or intense humidity as in the days before and after). The light of the long late-spring day filtered in through the shop windows as we set up our meeting tables with refreshments and crafting supplies. Then as 5pm rolled around our meetup regulars and first-timers alike began to appear, and the carefree chitchat of journaling styles and pens and inks began to fill the shop. As it turns out, our crafting table drew more attention than our refreshments (noted for next time!), and I think we all had a really nice time passing our journals around, trying each others' pens, and talking stationery. What follows is the visual log of our time.

That's all for this meetup! Once again we had a really nice time. It's hard to put into words how pleasant this seasonal gathering has become for us. Thanks for reading, thanks for looking, and see you next time.

If you have an interest in TRAVELER'S Company or other stationery lines we carry, make sure to check out our Campus Shop or visit our Old City or Rittenhouse locations in Philadelphia. We'll chat you up and show you around.
